Tbilisi City Assembly Approves Budget for 2020

Tbilisi Sakrebulo (City Assembly) approved the Tbilisi city budget for 2020, with Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze having presented the draft-document to Sakrebulo members on Friday.

The 2020 budget for the capital city of Georgia is 1 billion, 21 million GEL. 317 million is being allocated for social needs and GEL 430 million for infrastructure projects.

The opposition has commented on the document, claiming that the budget for social projects and transport infrastructure has been decreased.

Davit Zhgenti, a member of the European Georgia Party, stated on Friday that “The 2020 city budget does not serve the interests of Tbilisi residents."
