Giorgi Gakharia Sums Up the Achievements of 2019

Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia summed up 2019 in terms of the achievements the government made this year.

"Georgia became the chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE) in 2019, and we should take full advantage of this opportunity to share the achievements regarding the democratization of our country with our European partners, our friends and colleagues," he noted.

The head of the Georgian government also emphasized that 2019 was an important year in terms of cooperation and partnership between Georgia and NATO.

"At the same time, we must remember that 2019 was a very important year for Georgia and NATO in terms of cooperation and partnership. We should not forget that in 2019, a new dimension of NATO-Georgia cooperation has emerged — the Black Sea security program, which gives Georgia the opportunity to arrange a partnership with NATO. It is our mission in the Black Sea to be a guarantor of security together with our international partners. We have never had such a deep and comprehensive partnership with our main strategic partner, which we have today and which includes the most important dimensions, such as security cooperation with the United States, progress that we have in the economy, and of course, in the direction of democratization.

Dear friends, it is most important for us to daily show progress to our citizens and partners in terms of country's institutions and democratization, the progress that is visible and enjoyed by each of our citizens," he said.
