Irakli Kobakhidze Elected as the PACE Vice-President

Irakli Kobakhidze, a majority member and former Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, has been elected as Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

The voting was held as part of the Council of Europe's winter session in Strasbourg.

The Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia, headed by Kobakhidze, is participating in the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

In addition, within the framework of Georgia's chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Davit Zalkaliani will address the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly in Strasbourg today.

Zalkaliani will converse on Georgia’s activities and will introduce the expectations of the Georgian Presidency. The Georgian FM will also be answering questions from Assembly participants.

Tomorrow, President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili will address the session of the Parliamentary Assembly. On January 28, she will make a statement to Assembly members and will discuss developments in Georgia and the human rights conditions in the occupied regions.
