US Ambassador Arrives in Georgia

New US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan has arrived in the country.

“U.S. Embassy Tbilisi is very pleased to announce the arrival of Ambassador Kelly Degnan at Tbilisi International Airport.
Welcome to Georgia, Madame Ambassador! We look forward to the work we will do together to strengthen the partnership between the United States and Georgia,” posted the US Embassy in Tbilisi Facebook account as Ambassador Degnan stepped into the Tbilisi airport.

The new US Ambassador, who took the oath on January 17 in the US Department of State, has given out her first comments to the Georgian media. She said that it is a great honor for her to represent the United States in Georgia.

“I'm glad to be here. It is a great honor for me to serve as the US Ambassador to Georgia and I look forward to contributing to the strong partnership between Georgia and the US”, said the Ambassador.

“I think Georgia has made tremendous progress over the years and there is still a lot to be done,” stated Ambassador Dagnan. She said she is “looking forward to helping Georgia, with the team and Washington, to achieve stability, success, and safety.”
