Kobakhidze, Talakvadze Express Georgian Dream's High Hopes for the 2020 Elections

Earlier today, former Chairman of the Parliament, deputy Irakli Kobakhidze said that the current situation assures Georgian Dream party members that the party will celebrate a “solid win” in the 2020 elections. The GD party has “the resource of winning the upcoming parliamentary elections by 60%,” he noted in fact. Archil Talakvadze, the present Chairman of the Parliament further added that the ruling party has “a very high rating in the eighth year of its leadership,” expecting it to get higher under the pre-election campaign.

“One in two voters chose us in the 2016 election and I believe, that we are to get the same results in the upcoming elections – that is our goal at least. Although, the more the merrier, of course. We have the resource of winning by 60%,” Kobakhidze told the press.

“The Georgian Dream has a very high rating in the eighth year of its leadership, which will rise even further under the right pre-election campaign,” Talakvadze told InterPressNews.

Both Kobakhidze and Talakvadze noted that the ruling party will present itself with a renewed team for the 2020 parliamentary elections.

“Changes are always necessary,” explained Talakvadze.
