23 Iranian MP’s Have Tested Positive for Coronavirus

At least 23 Iranian members of parliament have tested positive for coronavirus, a government official said on Tuesday.

"To date, 23 members of parliament were tested positive," Parliament Deputy Speaker Abdul Reza Misri said in a report.

He further implied that gatherings between legislators and residents had been postponed due to health concerns.

Iranian authorities confirmed that 66 people have died of COVID-19, amounting to a total of 1,501 confirmed cases.

The global death toll from coronavirus has crossed 3,000 and the World Health Organization, which has already acknowledged the outbreak an international health emergency, reorganized the global risk level to ‘very high’.
