Iranian President Invites Putin to Tehran

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has invited Putin to the Astana Three summit in Iran. The summit comprises of three countries, Russia, Iran, and Turkey, which will be held in Tehran, Iran's Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali confirmed. 

The Astana Three together work to facilitate a settlement in Syria, which has been encircled with civil war since 2011. The three nations have operated as guarantors of the ceasefire agreed at the Astana talks.

"In a phone conversation, President Rouhani invited his colleague Vladimir Putin to the Astana summit, which will be soon held in Iran, on a rotational basis," the Ambassador stated at the Council of the Federation, which is the upper chamber of the Russian Parliament.
