The Latest Coronavirus Patient in Georgia is a Foreign National
Deputy Head of the Georgian National Disease Control Center, Paata Imnadze, has updated the public on the most recent, 49th, confirmed coronavirus case in Georgia. Imnadze said that the patient is a foreigner who came to Georgia a few days ago.
“This person is a foreigner, a citizen of France. It’s a little unclear why he wanted to wander around at this time, but for some reason, he decided to travel. He was in Greece and from there he came to Georgia. This happened a few days ago. He was not allowed in the country. He was at the airport, but now it’s becoming practically impossible to send people with cases like him out since flights to any destination are practically nil. Of course, he was first taken into quarantine, and then, as soon as the symptoms started to show, to Batumi Infections Hospital. This young French man of Mexican descent is now being treated in Georgia. We will help anyone who is in our country,” Imnadze told the First Channel.
Head of the Georgian National Disease Control Center Amiran Gamkrelidze has said that up to 70 new tests have been sent out to the Lugar laboratory from the Kutaisi and Tbilisi hospitals. The results will be known soon so the data of the coronavirus cases in the country that now stands at 49, might not be the same in the morning.
