Georgian President, PM Wish Boris Johnson a 'Speedy Recovery'

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili and Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia have sent warm wishes to Boris Johnson after he was admitted to intensive care when his coronavirus condition worsened.

“While it’s a rough time, I join this #ThankYou to everyone who stays home to fight COVID-19. Boris Johnson, Georgia is with you in your personal fight against the virus and I wish you strength and a quick recovery. Stay strong!” President Zurabishvili tweeted.

“On behalf of the Georgian government & myself wishing Boris Johnson a swift recovery. We are confident that British people & the government will endure COVID-19 & overcome this challenge as they have always done throughout history,” Giorgi Gakharia wrote.

The British PM spent Sunday night in hospital and was moved to the intensive care unit at St Thomas' Hospital in London on medical advice 24 hours later.

Johnson has been temporarily replaced as the head of government by the UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab.
