Kutaisi Mayor Steps Down

Kutaisi Mayor Giorgi Chighvaria has resigned. He posted the respective statement on social media, announcing his decision to leave politics.

"In November 2017, by the decision of a large part of the Kutaisi population, I was honored to become the elected mayor of Kutaisi. It was great confidence, as well as a huge responsibility. Since then, my team and I have launched many important projects and completed many of them. Even though my term of office is not over yet, I decided to step down and leave politics. However, I will not leave my city and I will remain its big supporter. I would like to thank my fellow citizens for their trust. I wish good luck, peace and success to my city!" reads the statement.
