PM Discusses Execution of State of Emergency with Heads of All Regions
The Prime Minister of Georgia discussed the process of enforcing the restrictions that are in place under the state of emergency with the heads of all regions of Georgia via videoconferencing.
Giorgi Gakharia instructed the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Region of Adjara and the governors of the regions to strictly control the rigorous observance of all the restrictions that are in place. The governors also were instructed by the head of government to constantly control the level of readiness and compliance with standards of the regional fever centers and the clinics earmarked to receive patients infected with the coronavirus and to do so in full coordination with the Ministry of Healthcare.
The importance of the efficient functioning of 144 - the unified hotline of the government - in the process of providing the public with information on what is restricted and what is permitted under the state of emergency was also noted. To this end, the governors were instructed to designate individuals in each region who will be responsible for providing the citizens referred by 144 with qualified information or the appropriate assistance.
Furthermore, in the coming days, the heads of the regions will present to the government their vision regarding the economic facilities whose resumption of operation will be a top priority after the conclusion of the state of emergency, taking into account the needs of each region. Special attention will be paid to their strict adherence to the recommendations issued by the Ministry of Healthcare and public healthcare experts. Facilities found to be in violation of the recommendations will not be able to resume operation.
PM Gakharia stressed the special importance of the effective work of the heads of the regions in order to be able to eliminate any possible shortcomings on the ground in a timely manner and to avoid any complications. The process will be coordinated by Prime Minister's Advisor on Regional Relations Sozar Subari.
The PM continues to hold regular meetings with the heads of the regions via videoconferencing.
