Georgian President Holds Phone Conversation with King Felipe VI
President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili held a phone conversation with King Felipe VI of Spain.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the situation in Georgia and Spain due to Coronavirus and the measures taken by the authorities. The press office of the President disseminates the information.
In terms of safe tourism development, the talks focused on the importance of adhering to international, sanitary norms issued by relevant international organizations. The sides discussed the importance of solidarity and its need amid the global crisis caused by Coronavirus.
During the discussion of the country's European integration process, the President of Georgia noted that Georgia is ready to take concrete steps towards the country's European integration and rapprochement with the European Union. She said that the crisis is a new opportunity for Georgia to deepen relations with the European Union.
The conversation also touched upon the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. The President of Georgia informed the King of Spain about the difficult humanitarian situation in the occupied regions. Felipe VI once again reaffirmed Spain's support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Salome Zurabishvili invited the King to visit Georgia after the end of the crisis.
The King of Spain noted that it is important to further deepen relations between the two countries, which will undoubtedly be facilitated by high-ranking visits.
