PM: School Year Will End on June 15

The 2019-2020 school year will end for first graders on May 27, for 12th graders on May 20, and for the rest of students on June 15, Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia said on Friday.

The head of the government emphasized that the academic year in Georgia had been held remotely, online, through TV school, in a normal mode.

He noted that the TV School Project has gained international recognition. 

"The Education Ministry, in collaboration with the Public Broadcaster, created the TV School, which turned out popular not only in Georgia but also gained international recognition. It is very important that TV School is a format which is broadcast in languages of ethnic minorities and allows every school student not to miss the study year. The result of this step is that the academic year will not be lost,” the PM said.
