Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs Gifts Car to Patrol Police

Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs (MIA) donated a Gel 99,000 ($42,000) automobile to the Georgian Patrol Police Department.

According to Minister Giorgi Mgebrishvili, the BMW X6 was purchased by the MIA in 2011 and served the senior ministry officials.

“High-ranking officials of the Ministry should not use such fancy and expensive cars, thus I made the decision to gift this car to the Patrol Police, because they need it more for providing safety and order for citizens,” Mgebrishvili’s statement reads.

Mgebrishvili also noted that the MIA owns several other expensive vehicles, which will be given to the Patrol Police in the nearest future.
