Gov't Permits Open Air Seminars and Trainings, All Types of Adventure Activities

Within the scope of a gradual re-opening of the economy and domestic tourism in Georgia, the Government has ruled to permit seminars and training in open air, along with any and all types of adventure activities, e.g. rafting, kayaking, canoeing – marine, air and land adventure activities. Seminars and trainings held in open air, as well as permitted adventure activities, should be practiced in line with general recommendations of the Ministry of Health. The referred decision has been taken at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council led by Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia in a format of video conferencing today.

Council members reviewed the performance of extended Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests in priority groups defined in the applicable Government Resolution, along with a gradual increase of its capacity. It was noted that by the end of the year the country will need to run 10 000 PCR tests a day.

In addition, along with the re-opening of domestic tourism and for efficient risk management, control will be continued over the compliance with the pre-defined rules and standards at hotels, restaurants and other food outlets. The government once again urges businesses to strictly adhere to the pre-defined regulations so that the enforcement of penalties envisaged in the legislation of Georgia is brought to the minimum of the need.

By considering the current epidemiologic situation, strict quarantine restrictions will be maintained in Mushevani village of the Bolnisi Municipality.

According to the present data, there are 895 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Georgia, out of which 741 individuals have recovered. Three people have been flown to Georgia for medical treatment. Lives of 14 people have been lost.

Currently, 2891 individuals are placed in quarantine, while 256 remain under supervision at hospitals.

The Interagency Coordination Council led by the Prime Minister of Georgia actively engages the Parliament of Georgia chaired by Archil Talakvadze and Administration of the President of Georgia.
