Mike Pompeo Congratulates Georgia on Constitutional Reform

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo responded to the approval of constitutional amendments by the Georgian Parliament.

The Secretary of State urges the Parliament to honor the will of the Georgian public.

“We applaud this week’s constitutional reform in the Republic of Georgia. We call on the Parliament to honor the will of Georgia and the pledge of the Georgian officials relating to the implementation of internationally recommended election reforms”, states Mike Pompeo.

Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani has responded: 

"Grateful to our US friends & partners for their support & engagement in consolidating democracy in Georgia. The Georgia-US strategic partnership is as strong as ever. Working together, we're deepening our robust cooperation in all key areas."
