PM's Office: Domestic Flights will be Resumed Any Day Now
Georgian Prime Minister’s Adviser Irakli Chikovani stated that ‘domestic flights will resume any day now.’
Chikovani also noted that “domestic flights will allow citizens to easily visit places located far from the capital,” this move by the administration is taken to encourage internal tourism in the country.
Additionally, Interagency Coordination Council on the Coronavirus pandemic has decided on the flight schedule to be ensured by Wizz Air and MyWay Airlines to safeguard the methodical return of Georgian citizens from overseas.
According to the Press Service of the Government Administration, the schedule includes flights from the following cities:
Warsaw on July 13
Barcelona on July 15
Rome on July 17
Paris on July 22
Athens on July 23
A 14-day quarantine remains obligatory for citizens returning to Georgia.
Moreover, Georgia has been included in the EU's list of 15 safest countries to travel to. The Georgian government is holding mutual discussions with EU member states on the reopening of its borders.
