Extended COVID Testing Underway in Gardabani Municipality
Extended testing of the population has been underway since morning in two villages of Gardabani Municipality, Karajala and Karataklia.
Six groups of epidemiologists are working on the ground, including three groups from the Lugar Laboratory. The samples taken during the day will be sent to the Lugar Lab.
Today, up to 700 people will be tested with PCR technology.
A total of 23 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the Gardabani municipality, of which 14 have been reported in the village of Karajala.
"We are concerned about the situation in Kvemo Kartli, Gardabani municipality. Several thousand people will be tested as part of the expanded study," Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, announced yesterday.
As for the general COVID-19 data in the country, the total number of cases stands at 1049.
10 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Georgia during the last 24 hours.
The number of recoveries has increased by 3, reaching 903.
5534 people are under a 14-day mandatory quarantine and 267 are under observation in hospitals.
16 people have died of the virus in the country.
41 citizens of Georgia have been transported to the country from abroad for treatment.
Currently, there are 130 active cases in the country.
