MEP Andrius Kubilius: The Path of Imperialistic Russia is Doomed
Former Prime Minister of Lithuania, Andrius Kubilius, who also served as a leader of the conservative Homeland Union party in Vilnius, and who is now a member of the European Parliament and an advocate for Georgia, wrote a text on the 12th anniversary of the Russo-Georgian War of 2008.
“Today, 12 years passed since August 2008 War. Russia's continued provocations by illegally deployed occupation forces & creeping annexation of Abkhazia & Tskhinvali regions of Georgia grossly violates international law & EU-mediated ceasefire agreement of 12 August 2008", - Kubilius wrote on his Twitter page.
"This path of imperialistic Russia is doomed. The only one European way for Russia is to take an example from Georgia, a role model for successful European reforms, living courageously through the global change in EU east neighborhood", he added.
