PM Congratulates New British Amb on Beginning of His diplomatic Mission in Georgia
Today, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia held a meeting with Mark Clayton, the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Georgia.
During the introductory meeting, Giorgi Gakharia congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Georgia and expressed hope that his work will further the close partnership between the two countries.
The meeting emphasized the political relations and strategic cooperation between the countries, in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
The Prime Minister welcomed the fact that the 7th round of Georgia-UK Wardrop Strategic Dialogue, despite presently existing difficulties, has been a success and another demonstration of the high-level partnership between Georgia and the United Kingdom.
Gakharia thanked the United Kingdom for assistance in the fight against COVID-19.
The parties pointed out Georgia’s progress on the path to European integration and the country’s role in the wider Black Sea Region.
The conversation also touched on Georgia’s public service reform and the importance on continuing close cooperation in this direction.
The meeting was attended by Head of the Administration of the Georgian Government Natia Mezvrishvili.
