MIA: All Protesters Violating Restrictions on Movement Shall be Fined

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that all persons who violate the restrictions on movement and stay outside to protest after 22:00 shall be fined GEL 2,000.

“Pursuant to the government’s resolution, the movement of persons is prohibited from 22:00 to 05:00 in all large cities of Georgia, both on foot and by vehicle. We urge you to obey the established regulations, otherwise the offence will result in a fine of GEL 2,000 for individuals and GEL 10,000 for legal entities. Those who violate the established regulations will be identified and will be held administratively liable for their legal offences”, the MIA said.

Despite the newly imposed restriction on movement due to the coronavirus pandemic, which enters into force tonight, activists and opposition leaders have declared disobedience and intend to spend the night on Rustaveli Avenue.
