MPs to Give Confidence Vote to New Cabinet of Ministers
Georgian parliament will give a confidence vote to PM Giorgi Gakharia’s Cabinet and governmental program 'Building of a European State' at the extraordinary session being held today.
Currently, the candidate for the Prime Minister, Giorgi Gakharia, is informing the deputies about the government program.
Only members of the Georgian Dream faction are attending the plenary session.
The only new member of the future Cabinet of Ministers is the Minister of Justice. Giorgi Gakharia has nominated Gocha Lortkipanidze for the post.
At the same time, civil activists are holding a rally at the entrance of the parliament building, claiming that the current parliament is illegitimate. They intend to continue rallies permanently in the future.
The main part of the governmental program Building of a European State is aimed at combating the pandemic.
The new government needs the support of 76 MPs for approval.
