Irakli Kobakhidze Unanimously Elected Chairman of GD
The congress of the party 'Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia' has elected Irakli Kobakhidze as the Chairman of the Party. The congress unanimously supported his candidacy.
For the record, the post of the chairman of Georgian Dream became vacant after the former chairman, Bidzina Ivanishvili, resigned and left politics on January 11.
Kobakhidze is the fourth chairman of the Georgian Dream. In 2012-2013, and then in 2018-2020, the party was led by Bidzina Ivanishvili, in 2013-2015 by Irakli Gharibashvili, and in 2015-2018 by Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
Further, at today's congress of 'Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia', the renewed composition of the political council of the party was approved.
The number of members of the political council of the Georgian Dream has increased to 21.
The newly elected chairman of the party, Irakli Kobakhidze, named the members of the political council at the congress and wished them success.
Along with Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Party, the members of the political council of the Georgian Dream are: Kakha Kaladze, Vasil Maglaperidze, Giorgi Gakharia, Archil Talakvadze, Maia Tskitishvili, Giorgi Volski, Irakli Gharibashvili, Tea Tsulukiani, Mamuka Mdinaradze, Kakhekher Kuchava, Ivane Machavariani, Maka Bochorishvili, Shalva Papuashvili, Mariam Kvrivishvili, Nikoloz Samkharadze, Sozar Subari, Dimitri Samkharadze and Tornike Rizhvadze.
