New Head of Georgian Government Meets US Ambassador

Newly appointed head of the Georgian Government, Giorgi Kvirikashvili has held his first meeting with the US Ambassador to Georgia as Prime Minister.

According to the government’s press office, the meeting discussed a wide range of Georgia-US relations as well as bilateral and multilateral co-operation issues.

Both sides have emphasized the existing relationship between Georgia and the United States.

They also discussed the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. Attention was also paid to the region’s security situation and challenges.

Ambassador Ian Kelly wished Kvirikashvili success and said that the United States strongly supports Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, democratic reforms and European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

The US Ambassador said the deep and extensive cooperation will continue with a new cabinet in the government of Georgia.
