Carlo Ponti to visit Georgia

World Famous conductor Carlo Ponti who is the son of Italian film actress Sophia Loren will visit Georgia.

Carlo Ponti will perform along with Nino Sorguladze in a charity solo concert on January 9th and a press conference will be held later today.

Carlo Ponti Junior was born on 19th December 1968. His parents are Carlo Ponti Sr. and Italian movie star Sophia Loren.

Ponti worked at the Conductor’s Institute in Conneticut, under the direction of Harold Farberman from 1994 to 96. Ponti has been associate conductor of the Russian National Orchestra since 2000 and was music director and principal conductor of the San Bernardino Symphony from 2001 to 2012.

During his career Pont has worked with around 30 orchestras, has 2 albums and has frequently participated in several television and radio shows. He has earned five rewards and participated in 11 festivals.

He currently works in the USA. Nino Surguladze’s international charity fund “Natvis Xe” (Desire Tree) will perform a concert in Tbilisi Concert Hall on January 9th at 21:00.

World stars tenor Alessandro Safina, Miss Hollywood 2005, Opliver Puli, Carlo Ponti, Nino Surgladze, Abkhazian choir and an instrumental band along with Tbilisi Opera Symphony Orchestra will participate in the concert.
