Levan Tutskiridze Awarded Special Prize by Minster of Culture

The Minister of Culture and Monument Protection, Mikheil Giorgadze, presented the famous artist and graphic designer Levan Tutskiridze with a special prize for his achievements in the development of Georgian art. Tutskiridze turned 90 on January 12th.

Levan Tutskiridze painted Sioni Cathedral in 1980 and is also the artist of the books: “Holy Gospel” by Chabua Amirejibi, “Data Tutashkhia” and the poem “The Knight in the Panther’s Skin” by Shota Rustaveli, which is published in Armenia, Russia, Japan and Germany.

He is also the artist behind a collection of illustrations called “Faust” by Goethe which are stored in the Goethe Museum in Weimar.

Tutskiridze was awarded an international diploma by Andersen.
