Georgian Music and Theater in New York

The Tbilisi-based Vaso Abashidze Music and Drama State Theatre Company visited New York’s acclaimed performance venues in lower Manhattan on January 9.

Seven actors presented a production titled “Introspection - The Story About Us” for the local audience.

The performance told about Georgia’s history from the Soviet era to modern times and was produced by director David Doiashvili.

Also in New York was the Georgian National Orchestra which was conducted by Nikoloz Rachveli, who led an orchestra of 30 musicians for a live performance comprised of works by popular Georgian composers from different eras.

The New York theatre hosted the performance within its cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia.
