Georgian Poetry Published in Germany
POP Verlag and the Georgian National Book Center published 'Anthology of Georgian Lyrics', a collection of Georgian poetry, in Germany. The book presentation took place at the Goethe Institute in Tbilisi on January 15th.
The book includes poetry of more than 80 Georgian authors from different epochs and was translated into German by Gert Robert Gruenert, Steffi Chotivari-Juenger, Naira Gelashvili, Maja Lisowski, Nino Popiaschwili, Schorena Schamanadse, Tamara Sieger.
The book, Eine Anthologie Georgischer Lyrik, is accompanied by an audio CD, where you can listen to poems by 37 poets, including Galaktion Tabidze and Irakli Charkviani's. The Georgian poetry reading is accompanied by a German translation.
Germans are introduced to Galaktioni, Lado Asatiani, Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, Paata Shamugia, Irakli Charkviani and dozens of other icons of Georgian poetry.
