Georgian Prime Minister to Visit Czech Republic

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili will pay his first official visit to the Czech Republic’s capital Prague later this month, according to Czech News Agency (ČTK).

Kvirikashvili’s visit will take place on February 22-23, and include a meeting with his Czech counterpart, Bohuslav Sobotka.

Former Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili had planned to visit the Czech Republic in November 2015, but was forced to cancel due to an emergency EU summit.

Economic, cultural and educational cooperation are expected to be the main topics of discussion at the meeting.

Kvirikashvili and Sobotka are also expected to touch on the on going conflict in Ukraine, Russia and the overall security situation in the Caucasus, ČTK reported.
