EU Commission to Publish Report on Visa Free Regime for Georgia

TBILISI – The European Union Commission on Wednesday will release a report detailing plans to implement a visa-free travel regime for Georgian citizens, parliamentarian and EU-Georgia Parliamentary Committee co-chair Zviad Kvachantiradze said in a statement posted on his Facebook page.

“Brussels will officially publish the proposed legal instrument for Georgia regarding the enforcement of visa free travel. This is the final decision…the last required step by the EU to effectively allow Georgian citizens to enter the Schengen zone without a visa,” Kvachantiradze wrote.

The commission is expected to address the European parliament and EU Council on Thursday regarding the matter, said Euro-integration committee chair Levan Berdzenishvili.
