Belgium Supports Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic Aspirations
BRUSSELS - Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikheil Janelidze met with his Belgian counterpart Didier Reynders Thursday who expressed Brussels’ firm support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
Both sides highlighted the successful reforms carried out by Georgia, which bring the country closer to EU standards and contribute to the consolidation of democratic institutions, protection of human rights and the strengthening of the rule of law.
Reynders expressed hope that significant immediate progress will be achieved towards implementing the EU’s visa liberalization process for Georgia.
Janelidze officially invitated Reynders to visit Georgia later this year.
Janelidze visited Brussels to attend The NATO-Georgia Commission meeting on March 2. During the visit he met with top officials representative from Euro-Atlantic organizations and European officials.
