Georgia’s Intelligence Agency Head Visits Baku to Discuss Regional Security Issues
BAKU – The Head of the Georgia’s State Intelligence Department Vakhtang Gomelauri on Wednesday visited the capital of neighboring Azerbaijan to discuss regional security issues with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev.
During the visit, the two parties discussed the ongoing situation in the region and security challenges in the Caucasus region.
They also agreed on strengthening bilateral relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan, particularly in the security sector.
Gomelauri also met with his Azeri counterpart Madat Guliyev to discuss increased cooperation between the security services of both countries.
Gomelauri and Guliyev concluded the meeting by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Security Services of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
