Tbilisi's Annual Photography Festival Opens Friday

TBILISI – More than 300 photographs from around the world will be on display in the Georgian capital Tbilisi from September 16-22 as part of the city’s seventh annual photography festival which will include a variety of workshops and exhibitions.

Now in its seventh year, the festival is regarded as one of the main cultural gatherings in the entire Caucasus region with photographers, curators and editors arriving from Europe, parts of Asia, Russia, Iran and Turkey,

The centerpiece of the festival is the Night of Photography – an open-air night exhibition, scheduled for September 17 at various locations in Tbilisi’s Old City.

The exhibition will feature a number of large screens showing more than 200 photographers from 20 countries.

The festival opens Friday, September 16 with a Japanese photography exhibition at Tbilisi’s Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).
