Italian MFA Paolo Gentiloni to Visit Georgia

The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, will come to Georgia on an official visit on November 6-7.  He is the first high representative of an EU government to visit the country after the elections. Tbilisi is also the first leg of his mission to the Caucasus region (Baku and Yerevan being the next stops).

With his  counterpart, Minister Mikheil Janelidze,  Minister Gentiloni will discuss major international issues. Together they will also debate in a public event about “Italy-Georgia Partnership and the Future of Europe”.

The event is co-organized by the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the Embassy of Italy, and the Rondeli Foundation.

The two Foreign Ministers will pay tribute to the Fallen Heroes of Georgia at the War Memorial.

Gentiloni will also meet Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and President Giorgi Margvelashvili. He will visit the Service Public Hall together with Georgian Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani.

Bilateral relations (including political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation), Georgia’s path to reforms and euro-atlantic integration, and regional issues will be on the agenda of the meetings.
