Tbilisi to Host Cheese Festival on Sunday
TBILISI- Sunday, November 6, Rose Square Tbilisi will host the annual Georgian cheese festival, introducing an assortment of at least 45 locally produced cheese brands, accompanied by Georgian wine and a honey tasting.
The fair is free to attend starting 11 a.m. on Sunday till 5 p.m. the same day. The festival was first held in 2010, and became an annual tradition thereafter.
"The program of the 2016 festival will be slightly different, since it will mainly focus on showcasing products from young farmers who are motivated and seek to reproduce Georgian cheese recipes that were either long forgotten or lost," said Khatia Tsilosani, Head of International Relations Department at the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.
Local small-scale agricultural enterprises will also be present at the fair with their goods. A concert is also planned during the event. The cheese festival is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.
