Tbilisi Welcomes New, Modern School

TBILISI – Pupils of Tbilisi Public School 103 will continue studies in a new building, equipped with modern facilities and adapted for the disabled people. 

The opening ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the Education Minister, Alexander Jejelava and other governmental officials.

The PM noted that the new school building was the most modern in Georgia, where everyone could get knowledge.

“For a civilized society it is necessary to feel the gap between people and let everyone get knowledge and integrate in the society,” he said.

Kvirikashvili voiced a new initiative of the government – popularization of active lifestyle, which means that Education and Sports Ministries will offer special programs to the students, in order to promote healthy lifestyle among the youth.

“Our children are very actively involved in acquisition of modern technologies. However, in the era of new technologies, physical activity and exercise have become more popular. That is why we want to offer each school and each child establishment of physical activity,” the PM said.

The Education Minister noted that the aim of the new initiative was healthy generation.

“We are going to involve the youth in sport activities. We are sure that children want to develop in this direction ", said Jejelava.

Education Reform is one of the top priorities of the government’s four-point plan. Moreover, Georgia’s President, Giorgi Margvelashvili, declared 2017 as the year of education.
