Dutch Senate Ratifies EU-Georgia Association Agreement
The Senate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands has ratified the Association Agreement (AA) between Georgia and the European Union (EU).
Following the second chamber of the Netherlands’ Parliament, which ratified the Georgia-EU deal on April 7, the upper house of the Dutch Parliament voted for ratification of the Association Agreements of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine with the EU today.
“The second chamber of the Parliament ratified the Association Agreement on April 7. Today, the Senate voted for the decision. In fact, the ratification process is concluded. Only the formal procedure of signing by the government and the King is left,” said Georgian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Konstantine Surguladze.
The AA deal was signed last year by Georgia and the EU on June 27 in Brussels.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands becomes the 22nd country of the 28 EU member states to ratify the Georgia-EU Association Agreement.
