Czech-Backed Lab Opens in Tbilisi
On 18 January 2017, Ambassador of the Czech Republic Tomáš Pernický oversaw the opening of the PCR Molecular Genetics Laboratory, established with the support of the Czech Republic Development Cooperation under the project “New Challenges in Diagnostic Aspects in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in Georgia”. The project has been implemented by the “International Association for Aid to Children Suffering from Leukemia."
This project, the result of cooperation between several Czech and Georgian partners, is hoped to increase accessibility to accurate and effective diagnosis for patients with leukemia. The participation of Czech hospital Motol has allowed molecular-genetic diagnostic tests to be performed on children with leukemia and lymphoma for the first time in Georgia.
