Winner of Georgia’s National Eurovision Contest Announced

Tamar (Tako) Gachechiladze, an already-popular Georgian singer, became the winner of the national contest for Eurovision, held in Tbilisi on Friday.

She was chosen from the twenty five contestants by votes from viewers and an international jury, earning a total of 122 points. She will represent Georgia at this year’s annual Eurovision song contest, to be held in Kiev, Ukraine, in May.

Her contest entry will be the song “Keep the Faith,” which she herself wrote.
