Foreign Minister: Georgians to Enjoy Visa-free Travel to EU from March 28
Georgia’s Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze says Georgians will be able to travel to Schengen area without visas from March 28.
The minister made the statement from Brussels after the signing ceremony of the regulation on visa liberalization for Georgians, which will allow them to travel to the European Union for a period of stay of 90 days in any 180-day period. “I congratulate every citizen on this very important step forward on the path of European integration,” the minister said.
Janelidze said that it has been confirmed that the revised regulation will be published in the Official Journal on March 8th.
“On March 28th visa-liberalization will take effect and citizens with biometric passports will be able to pay short-term visits to Europe,” he said, adding that the ultimate goal of Georgia is full membership of the European family.
