President of the European Council Postpones Georgia Visit to Deal with Greece Bailout

Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, was due to pay an official visit to Georgia and Armenia this week, as stated by Tusk himself on his official twitter account on July 10.

On July 14-15, he intended to conduct meetings in Tbilisi before heading to Yerevan on July 16. However it has now been revealed that due to Greece bailout negotiations, President Tusk's visit to Georgia has been postponed. The new date of his arrival to Georgia will be known in the next few days.

The President of the European Council was invited to Georgia by Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of Georgia, when meeting in Brussels on May 12 (photo), before the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Summit in Riga.
