Georgian Museums to Celebrate International Museum Day

May 18 is International Museum Day, founded by the International Council for Museums ICOM in 1977.

Open door events, exhibitions, seminars, public lectures, and museum nights have been organized all over the world to celebrate. 

Georgian National Museum has participated for ten years and will be offering numerous activities for the art lovers.

The theme for 2017 is Museums and Contested Histories: Saying the Unspeakable in Museums.

Entrance to all the museums is free on May 18, as is attendance to all events during the museum week from May 16 to May 20.
