Georgia’s Kvirikashvili Meets Chair of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

As part of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session in Tbilisi, which concluded on Monday, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy to discuss the positive dynamics in bilateral relations in various areas and indicate that the partnership will reach its full potential.

Development of regional transport corridors, transit destinations as well as trade and economic connections were also discussed at the meeting.

The Prime Minister of Georgia welcomed the ever-growing interest of Ukrainian tourists in Georgia. 

It was noted that President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko intends to pay a visit to Georgia in the near future.

The European aspirations of both countries was also discussed by the officials, as well as the possibility of establishing tripartite cooperation platform with the involvement of Moldova.

Kvirikashvili congratulated Andriy Parubiy on the recent decision that grants the Ukrainian citizens the right to travel visa-free in Schengen zone.
 

They reaffirmed their mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine and Georgia.

Andriy Parubiy also met the Speaker of Georgian Parliament, Irakli Kobakhidze and Georgian MPs.
