Take a Break in Batumi with Kolga Tbilisi 2015 Photo Contest

When it’s hot outside and people want to spend their summer holidays with family and friends. In Georgia they especially want to hang out by the seaside. This year there will be something special for them, running from July 19 to September 6, “KOLGA TBILISI 2015.”

Taking place in Batumi this year, the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection and the Culture Center of Batumi is hosting a total of 36 photo projects which have been carefully selected as part of an international photo contest. These will be featured on a monitor for tourists and locals alike to enjoy, in fact anyone who appreciates great photography will love KOLGA TBILISI 2015.

“KOLGA TBILISI” has earned its reputation as being the most prestigious and popular annual photo festival of the year. It hosts photo exhibitions and various competitions annually. Its regular venue is the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, and the main goal of the festival is to link international photography to Georgia and to help develop local photography throughout the country.

 “KOLGA TBLISI PHOTO” affords the opportunity for international and local people to participate in this amazing project. A variety of exhibitions, lectures and workshops delivered by foreign photographers, as well as American and European artists, art critics, and curators. Starting with “KOLGA TBILISI”back in 2012, alongside the “KOLGA AWARD”event,various international and local exhibitions have been hosted.

This is the 14th year in which “KOLGA TBILISI” has provided a chance to photographers to participate and earn various prizes. Each winner in the first four categories will receive 1,500 USD. Other categories of winners will be presented with iphones courtesy of GEOCELL.

This year features five categories: 1.Documentary; 2.Reportage series; 3.Conceptual Photo Project; 4.One shot; 5.GEOCELL Mobile Photo.

The photographers who will be featured at the exhibition in Batumi from July 19 to September 6 include Alex Masi (Italy), Birte Kaufmann (Germany), J. Henry Fair (United States), Giulio Di Sturco (Thailand), and Natan Dvir (Israel).
