Georgian PM Hosts Mike Pence at Official Dinner

Georgian Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili hosted the United States (US) Vice-President Mike Pence and his wife at an official dinner, and thanked them for their visit to Georgia.

The guests enjoyed views of the city from Tbilisi Funicular, in the Mtatsminda district and took photos together.

The leaders also exchanged gifts. The Prime Minister showed the Vice President a photo-exhibition dedicated to Georgian history.

Kvirikashvili underlined that this year Georgia and the US celebrate their 25th anniversary of the initiation of mutual diplomatic relations.

“It is an honor for me and my country to host the US Vice-President and the US delegation…The USA is Georgia’s main strategic partner,” the PM said.

Mike pence thanked Kvirikashvili for such great hospitality and reiterated that the US continues supports Georgia.

“I am here with heartfelt greetings from the US president. He has sent me here with a very simple message for you, your government and the great Georgian people - we are with you! We stand in the service of freedom and our common values,” the Vice-President stated.

He added that it was especially pleasant to meet with the Georgian people, greeting the US delegation with American flags.

“I have no doubt that stronger connections between us and the mutual love of freedom and independence will be further strengthened by you and President Donald Trump,” Pence addressed PM Kvirikashvili.
