Georgia and Armenia Discuss Future Plans

Georgian Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister, Mikheil Janelidze met with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian during his official visit to Yerevan on September 11.

The ministers discussed the issues of bilateral and regional co-operation, especially in the areas of trade and economy, transport, energy, tourism, and culture.

Special attention was paid to the Georgian-Armenian Business Forum held in Yerevan, representing a good example of co-operation between the business communities of the two countries.

The parties noted that there is an increasing level of interaction between the Georgian and Armenian young people, in particular, their participation in the summer camps in Georgia and Armenia.

Discussions also focused on the current developments in the region and in the world.

Janelidze thanked his counterpart for Armenia’s assistance in overcoming the forest fire in Georgia’s Borjomi Gorge.  

During the visit, Janelidze was also hosted by the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.

The officials discussed future cooperation plans and prospects to deepen bilateral relationship.

Serzh Sargsyan and Mikheil Janelidze discussed the prospects of development of Georgian-Armenian cooperation within the framework of international organizations, challenges facing the region and the international community.
