British Council Georgia Presents 'Deaf Men Dancing' Performance
This year the British Council in Georgia is set to work in partnership with the Tbilisi International Festival of Theatre to present contemporary theatre from the UK. With the aim of promoting inclusivity in art, this year they have invited the all-male deaf dancers company called Deaf Men Dancing IDMD) to perform.
In this lovely little outdoor performance two deaf men arrive; they set up their soapboxes and deliver to the audience their ‘Ten Commandments for Deaf Awareness’ in BSL, mime, physical theatre and dance.
The show is created by DMD’s Artistic Director/Choreographer Mark Smith, in collaboration with designer Ryan Dawson Laight and composer Sean Chandler.

There will be two performances of DMD on September 30 in Tbilisi. Show times are 17:00 and 19:00, and will be held at New Tiflisi on David Agmashenebli Avenue. Show length is 30 minutes and attendance is free.
The DMD is presented as part of the British Council’s Culture&Development: Unlimited programme in partnership with the Marjanishvili Theatre and Tbilisi International Festival of Theatre.
