Botticelli and Caravaggio Exhibitions to be Shown at National Gallery
For the first time in Georgia, from October 5 to November 29, Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery is to host two Italian exhibitions: Universal Values: Botticelli, The Beauty and Caravaggio, The Light, displaying masterpieces of Italian painting.
The Italian Embassy in Georgia is the coordinator of the exhibition, which came as a result of co-operation between various institutions including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, the Ministry of Economic Development and ICE in Italy, and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, National Museum, National Tourism Administration and Check in Georgia project in Georgia.
The Venus Pudica exhibition is organized in co-operation with Turin Royal Museum and cultural association Metamorphosis, displaying the original Botticelli’s Venus, kept in Sabauda Gallery, in Turin.
Another exhibition: Opera Omnia initiated by Rai.Com and organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, unites forty real size, digital, high resolution masterpieces from Caravaggio.
