Georgian Election Subjects Receive 12,998,651.16 GEL Donations
From July 1 to October 15, 2017 the election subjects received a total of 12,998,651.16 Gel donations, according to the interim report about the local self-government elections, which was published by the Financial Activity Monitoring Service of the State Audit Office (SAO).
The report revealed that the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party received the most donations - 11,640,441.00 Gel, followed by the parliamentary minority European Georgia - 931,083.95 and the opposition United National Movement (UNM) - 108,149.21. Then comes the Russia-affiliated Alliance of Patriots of Georgia (APG) - 63,142.00 Gel, also New Democracy Movement - 31,486.00 Gel, Domenti Sichinava - 50,150.00 Gel, Alexander Elisashvili - 31,431.00 Gel, Gulo Zumbadze - 15,500.00 and other election subjects in total - 92,168.00 GEL.
As the report says, 31 individuals have been summoned for questioning over the donations, because the SAO has additional questions to them.
Moreover, since October 2, the election subjects have so far spent 8,835,900.00 Gel in total.
The most expenses has the GD - 6,983,756, followed by the European Georgia - 646,775Gel, APG - 507,730, UNM - 202,811, Democratic Movement - United Georgia - 75,892 GEL and Civil Platform - New Georgia - 66,084 GEL.
According to the interim report, in total Georgia’s budget has received income of 742,787.00 GEL.
The local elections in Georgia will be held on October 21.
