Georgian PM Meets Romanian Minister for Business Environment
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, met the Minister for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship of Romania, Ilan Laufer, on Friday.
As the PM’s Press Office reports, the discussions focused on the cooperation between the two countries, which are actively developing; as well as the investment environment in Georgia, ongoing reforms and macroeconomic indicators.
Kvirikashvili provided his Romanian college with information about positive trends in the Georgian economy, the growing dynamics of the number of tourists, and the potential of Georgian mountain resorts.
Ilan Laufer expressed his desire to introduce the Georgian investment environment to Romanian investors.
Both sides discussed the prospect of holding joint business associations in Romania and Georgia in 2018, and the possibility of direct flights between the two countries, as well as the possibility of sharing experience in tourism and technology.
It was underlined that Georgia plays an important role in the region by serving as the corridor linking Europe and Asia.
The importance of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port construction was also noted. They discussed the prospect of linking ports in Georgia and Romania.
The Romanian minister expressed his support towards the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
